TIDE CREEK ROWAN

Image 42 of 42

Tide Creek Rowan came to Cardod Welsh in 2005 as a shy yearling. She was big for her age, and not so keen on being haltered, so the intent was to work with her for a short while and then send her back home to Tide Creek Welsh. After just a few weeks, however, we had fallen in love with the gorgeous filly with the endearing personality and simply could not let her go. Fortunately Becky agreed to sell her, and the stunning chestnut filly that wasn’t for sale suddenly became Amy’s new show project. Rowan made her show ring debut as a two-year-old, winning a grand championship at her very first show. As the year passed by, she continued to exceed our expectations, ending her first year with the National title. Over the next few years, Rowan continued to grow into her big frame and more often than not trotted her way to the top, winning numerous Supreme championships. A bit slow to mature, Rowan didn’t make her way into the performance ring until the end of her four-year-old year. It was definitely worth the wait. Her first time out, Rowan took home the hi-point ribbon in English pleasure. As her training progressed, western pleasure and trail were added to the mix. Rowan proved to be an all around performance animal. She quickly accumulated enough points to earn her Individual LOM, well before the year’s end. Rowan is now enjoying some time off from the show ring, learning dressage and riding the trails instead. We are so proud of Rowan and are looking forward to more successful show seasons and to her future foals.
