*SYNOD LORD PERCIVAL LOM (Synod Roy Rogers x Synod Ladybird) We acquired our first Welsh pony in 1994, and shortly thereafter saw an advertisement for a Section C mare that had won at the Canadian Pony Breeders show. Her type and charisma captured our imagination and we decided then and there, that when we were ready to import a stallion, that he must be Synod bred. Foaled in 1999, bred by Cerden and Doreen Jones of Synod Stud, this impeccably bred son of Synod Roy Rogers out of Synod Ladybird was imported to Canada in 2000. TC, as he is affectionately called, quickly became more than we had ever dared hope. He has consistently won in conformation and performance both in the Welsh world as well as in open performance competitions. For example, in 2003 he earned the 2003 North American Small Pleasure Driving Pony from his combined points at the Canadian Carriage Classic and Walnut Hill, New York. TC is the only Welsh pony to have won all four driving classes at Toronto’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair! In 2009, TC with the help of Alan and Susie Schockett, Jeff Kohler, Amy Schwartz and crew, he was a force to be reckoned with. TC won under saddle, over fences, and in harness, additionally taking four Supremes in the United States and two Supremes in Canada, ending the year with the prestigious Champion of Champions award at the 2009 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. We are proud to note that TC’s daughter High Hope Sunfire has also earned her Legion of Merit this past year. Since earning his Legion of Merit, we have directed Synod Lord Percival towards driving, in both the pleasure and combined driving arenas; where he has been undefeated. Wins include champion Large Pony at Walnut Hill, and the High Point Welsh Pony and Cob. Additionally, he won the CDE Preliminary Division at the Laurels. He is the little pony that can, and we love him.
