Judge Reference Questionnaire

To complete the Judge application process for as a Gold rated judge, the applicant must have 3 references submitted on their behalf.  One of the 3 references must be submitted by a show manager that hired the applicant to judge a show.  The applicant will receive email confirmation of the questionnaire submission, but the actual questionnaire will only be submitted to the National Office and Licensed Officials Committee Chairs.

The ability to judge an equine purely on the merits of the equine without regard to the owner/exhibitor.
The ability to judge an equine without being influenced by a previous opinion of another judge.
Personal Appearance.
Professional conduct as a Judge.
The ability to work with management and exhibitors in a stressful public situation.
Select NA if you have not witnessed the Judge applicant navigate a stressful situation. NA is not a mark against the applicant.
The ability to relate to youth exhibitors in a constructive manner.
The ability to interact with exhibitors, of all ages, in a professional manner.

If you have not hired this applicant to judge a show, please skip this section.
The Applicant arrived on time and was easy to work with throughout the show.
The Applicant was respectful to exhibitors in the breed ring, offered full attention to each entry, and exhibitors felt seen and judged regardless of placings.
The Applicant was respectful to exhibitors in the performance ring, did not overwork the animals, made sure every exhibitor felt seen and judged, and conducted each class in accordance to the class specs.
The Applicant asked questions ahead of time if they required any clarifications regarding a rule or spec.
The Applicant worked well with all staff, accepted management schedule decision, and was courteous and respectful throughout the show.
The Applicant judged every single class according to the listed spec, was well versed in allowed/required gaits to be called, and was clearly familiar with the judging criteria of each class over the entire show.
The Applicant followed all WPCSA rules, including phone regulations in the ring.
The Applicant remained off of social media with respect to officiating the show.
