ALL POINTS BECOME FINAL ON DECEMBER 6, 2017

WHY ARE MY POINTS BAD?

“Bad” points are points that are not earned and will not count towards year-end awards or Lifetime Achievement Awards. The main reasons points could be “bad” are:

  • Your Welsh or equitation rider were showing outside of your home region

  • The recorded owner was not listed as the owner by the Show Secretary
  • The recorded owner is not a member
  • The equitation rider is not a member
  • A stallion has been gelded and the change has not been recorded

Nominations for Board of Directors

Anyone wishing to run for a position on the WPCSA Board of Directors should contact the office to obtain a nomination form. Deadline for submission is November 26.

The eligibility requirements are:

a. WPCSA Senior Life members who have maintained a voting membership for the previous three (3) consecutive years OR WPCSA Annual members who have maintained a voting membership for the previous ten (10) years and agree to pre-pay WPCSA membership for the length of the term if elected.

b. Have produced and registered with the WPCSA a minimum of fifteen (15) foals (purebred Welsh and/or Half Welsh) OR Have owned or leased two (2) or more WPCSA registered purebred Welsh mares which have been reported on a WPCSA Stallion Service Report in the current year.

If you are considering running for the Board of Directors you may find it helpful to consider the following questions:

1.  Are you committed to the success of the WPCSA and enthusiastic about its Purpose and programs?

2.  Are you willing to devote the necessary time and effort (including preparation for and attending meetings, and serving on committees,

working on projects and working with advisory groups)?

3.  Can you take a long term view; plan and look ahead; make good decisions; be level-headed and focus on the task?

4.  Would you bring with you knowledge and understanding of the breed, its history and pedigrees?

5.  Do you approach issues impartially and openly with good, independent judgment?

6.  Can you think creatively?

7.  Are you an effective team player?

8.  Are you willing to speak your mind, question constructively and listen actively?

9.  Do you possess basic financial awareness?

10. Are you able to subscribe to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership, and are you willing to sign the WPCSA Code of Ethics?
